AgSouth has returned $225 million in cash to members over the last 17 years!
As an agricultural credit cooperative, AgSouth is owned by the member-borrowers who purchase stock/participation certificates in the cooperative. At the end of each fiscal year, AgSouth's board of directors may choose to retain the association's net income to strengthen its capital position or distribute some or all of the net income to members by declaring a dividend on stock, or a patronage refund.
When we distribute our profits to our members, it reduces their effective costs of borrowing, and it proves there are distinct financial benefits in doing business on a cooperative basis with AgSouth!
